Sara Hunt of the Publisher Saraband contacted me some time ago asking if she could use this photo which was contributed by the late Kate Gairns to the website for the cover of a book by Sue Lawrence the Scottish cookery and food writer and author. I was quite taken aback to be asked for permission because usually people plunder the website at will and take what they want in the mistaken belief that anything published online is free to take. Anyway, Whispers in the Glen has now been published with a credit to the Stanley Website for the photo.
